#INVISIBLEBAG is water-soluble, compostable and biodegradable, certified that it is non-toxic, leaves no harmful residues on earth, does not form microplastic in aqueous medium. It is not a plastic bag, it does not contain PP, PE, PET, PS, PVC.  And It is an alternative solution for manufacturers and brands to replace the conventional plastic packaging.

What is #INVISIBLEBAG made of?

#INVISIBLEBAG is made of a biodegradable combination of Polyvinyl Alcohol (known as PVA) together with starch, glycerin and water. And we also use eco-friendly ink, which does not contain heavy-metal ions and benzene.

What is Polyvinyl Alcohol?

Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) was invented in 1920s by German Scientists  Hermann and Haehne by hydrolyzing polyvinyl acetate in ethanol with potassium hydroxide.

This water-soluble & biodegradable synthetic polymer was first industrially produced in Japan. It has been used in medical, embroidery, garment, laundry packets, agricultural films and etc since the 1960s. And plastic can be water-soluble as well, such as medicine capsules.

What’s left after dissolving it in water?

Is there any formation of microplastic?

We partner up with PhD in Chemistry, engineers, according to literature, PVA is recognized as biodegradable polymers (P.S, It's not every plastic cannot be biodegraded), thus under aqueous medium, composting facilities, soil, it could be biodegraded by microorganisms, and broke down into carbon dioxide and water, back to the nature. And PVA can be fully dissolved in water, which will not form microplastic.

Is #INVISIBLEBAG toxic and harmful to the environment?

#INVISIBLEBAG passed the estrogen equivalent (EEQ) test, showing no estrogenic activity. It is confirmed to be environmentally safe and non-toxic, with no trace of harmful elements for humans, animals and nature. This test is conducted by Vitargent, an award-winning biotechnology lab testing company based in Hong Kong. EEQ test uses modified medaka embryos with jellyfish DNA, which is cruelty free, to detect the environmental estrogens and chronic toxicants.

Is #INVISIBLEBAG compostable and biodegradable?

#INVISIBLEBAG is certified compostable according to the US Standard ASTM D6400 and the European Standard EN13432. And also certified biodegradable by Japan BioPlastics Association (JBPA GreenPla).

The ASTM D6400 is the North American equivalent of the European EN 13432, any material certified with ASTM D6400 and EN13432 is compostable, 90% or more of the material will have been converted to carbon dioxide (CO2) by micro-organisms within 180 days in ideal composting conditions. No harmful residues are left behind and the remaining share is converted into water and biomass.

And the Japan BioPlastics Association refers to products that are broken down by the action of microorganisms in the natural environment and which ultimately become carbon dioxide or water.

How to dispose #INVISIBLEBAG?

We suggest dissolving it in hot water by pouring 80℃ or above in a container, it will be dissolved completely in a few minutes. After the dissolution, you could put down the drain, and the wastewater will go to the sewage treatment facility. It also dissolves in cold or room temperature water but at a slower rate.

What ink are we using for printing?

We use eco-friendly ink. No heavy metal, benzene, and ketone which do not harm the environment. The estrogen equivalent (EEQ) test confirmed it is environmentally safe and non-toxic.

Can I recycle #INVISIBLEBAG?

Since #INVISIBLEBAG is water-soluble, it does not enter the recycling program. Please reuse our bags before disposing of #INVISIBLEBAG by dissolving it in hot water or composting it (if there are industrial composting facilities in your city) in order to reduce your carbon footprint.

What is the shelf life of #INVISIBLEBAG? How should I store them?

In order to keep #INVISIBLEBAG in good condition, it is delivered with protecting outer packaging (please reuse and recycle it), if outer packaging is not opened, shelf life is up to 24 months.

When #INVISIBLEBAG is packed with your product, it is suggested to store in a clean room with good air circulation and natural ventilation. We suggest storing it in a temperature range between: 7°C~30°C, humidity: 20%~70%. If stored in above good conditions, shelf life is up to 24 months.

Is it customizable? What is the MOQ?

How long does it take to manufacture?

Yes, it is. Sizes, colours, printing are customizable. The MOQ is 150kg of the material. It takes 4-6 weeks from product design to finished goods. Otherwise, we have ready-made #INVISIBLEBAG available.

What can be carried in #INVISIBLEBAG and

what is the load capacity?

We recommend to carry dry items only, avoid putting wet items such as liquid, meat, seafood, frozen food and such. The load capacity depends on the thickness and specifications of #INVISIBLEBAG. Our standard #INVISIBLEBAG Shopping Bag (25cm x 45cm) is 30 micron which could carry about 3-4 kg dry items. And comparing with general plastic bags which are mostly 15-20 microns,  #INVISIBLEBAG has high tensile strength as strong as plastic due to its material characteristics.

Can I carry it under the rain?

As #INVISIBLEBAG is water-soluble and hydrophilic, remember to not expose it to the rain and carry your umbrella to protect both the bag and its carried items. When it meets condensation or light raindrops, the bag will not break apart abruptly, however, its tensile strength will be slowly decreasing. A small splash of fresh water would not harm the loading capacity (3-4 kg in normal conditions), though its appearance will look softened and wrinkled. But in case of heavy rain, its strength and structure will quickly weaken and will tear apart.
